2000 crores and 1500 crores story?

Yes that is true the money being spent to buy the two IPL teams for the IPL season 4 is huge by any standards. Pune went for 2000 crores and Kochi went in 1500 crores.

1500 crores by rendezvous sports a company formed with a number of individuals who are unknown.

The promoters are unknown but yes they have the blessings of Shashi Tharoor as he is from Kerala. Good for Kerala but is it good for the country? Well not at all. I wish these individuals would have started a good cause charity for spending their money. Well in terms of economy it is good. It is definitely very good for cricketers and also good for the state economy.

It is good for the cricketers and of course a certain Mr. Lalit Modi who is the Godfather of IPL. Lalit Modi has done wonders for the fans in India and abroad as well as for the retired and young cricketers of India and abroad. They make money and he and BCCI definitely make a lot of money.

Next comes 2000 crores and Sahara India. They bagged Pune but how will they cough up all the money is anybody’s guess. They were supposed to be under investigation for financial irregularities and nobody knows what business they are in apart from the fact that they have close political connections and of course Bollywood connections

IPL definitely need those Bollywood connections. Sahara Parivar has Amitabh Bacchan as the close friend as well as they have several other people like Mr. Anil Ambani who is close to them. Anil Ambani definitely needs to have a team as he does not want to lose to his brother Mukesh Ambani in IPL sweepstakes. Anil Ambani can anyday give a tough fight to big brother.

Well that said let us see what happens in IPL4. IPL4 will 94 matches. Well more that later. The first thing is that you need to have the players like Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid in the team so as to get sponsorships as well as make sure that you have a some you can depend on as the crowd puller.

At the moment Pune and Kochi do not have any player worth the salt? They will need big money to attract a lot of big names to them and of course to pull them away from existing IPL teams.

The Auction is there in September for the IPL teams and it will very exciting to see who bags which player? Money and more money everywhere?
