For a couple reasons, this is probably going to change. Firstly, hair implants were the main competitor to toupees, but they are very expensive for people on regular incomes. Secondly, toupees have improved a lot in the intervening years and are now made of materials that produce a very natural-looking product. The base of the new toupee is a very slim, flexible plastic that closely matches your scalp. As a matter of fact, men can wear them to hide a receding hair line, and still comb their hair straight back — they are that natural looking!

So if you need a quick, inexpensive means to hide your baldness, give the modern toupee a second chance. They are no laughing matter anymore!
