Chennai International Fashion Week – CIFW

Finally Chennai is being put on the fashion map with a Fashion week as opposed to being treated like poor country cousin by cities Delhi and Mumbai. So The four days of CIFW have proved that Chennai as a city knows all about fashion and that they definitely have the style and the panache above their regular Dhotis and Pattu Pavdas.

Day 1 Highlight was Sidney Sladen with a Middle Eastern touch to it and was giving a good finale with Bollywood actor Neil.

Day 2 – Belonged to Rehane with a summer collection that was wow and then again there was this special thing which was walking the ramp with Varalakshmi Sarath Kumar. Rehane is from Chennai and she said that it she hoped that she has done Chennai proud.

Day3 – Belonged To Archana Lochar with all the special blue outfits which looked really like Fantasy. She introduced the Chennai fashion freaks to new and stylized parka coat innovations.

Day4 – Pooja Rajvanshim was all about royal look with the special cloth which was the Kota Doria. Of course royal clothes are never without those laces, sequins and the zardosi. She is also an ace designer for accessories like special earrings, designer handbags, stylish ladies belts and even ladies shoes. She has a boutique store in the city wher she sells the designer label and plans to introduce a lot of new items in the designer store.

So chennaites now have a feel for high fashion and it seems that Chennai Fashion week will become a permanent fixture in the city. The show was held at the Le Meridian.

Well no fashion is nowadays complete without its share of Bollywood and we had Koena Mitra, Genelia D’ Souza and Neil Nitin Mukesh. Then we had the Namitha who was all oomph. Another Bollywood and Kollywood heroine that has been there was the famous Neetu Chandra.

Next the eyes are on the mainstay fashion week which is the WIFW which means Wills India Fashion Week. That has all the action for sure with the entire Bollywood coming up for their favorite designers. Manish Malhotra definitely has to be there and several others like Rocky S and Sanjana Jon.
