Cost of a Nose Job

Most plastic surgery or cosmetic surgery procedures are classified as elective, meaning that they are not covered under health insurance policies. That is why you need to know how much this could cost before you even consider getting one.

The term “nose job” refers to the procedure of molding or forming the nose. This is among the most usual plastic surgeries that are performed. Many people get this done because they do not like how their nose looks and they feel that they will look better if they change its shape and its size. This can be a big decision, especially because it involves some big costs.

Like any other medical operation, the price for the nose job is based on who is performing it. It also differs according to the place where the operation is to performed and other considerations. There are instances when the nose job is covered by health insurance but this is usually when a nose job is required for health reasons as in reconstructive rhinoplasty. For example, you can get your nose job covered if you need one because of a breathing problem. But those people who get a nose job because of aesthetic reasons would not be able to get coverage.

A nose job would normally cost around $3,000 to $6,000 depending on how extensive the procedure is. It also depends on where you are getting the surgery done. If it is in an actual hospital and not in a surgery center, expect to pay more. Higher costs will also be incurred if general anesthesia needs to be administered instead of the local one. This is becase hiring an anesthesiologist means extra costs on your part.

A nose job will also have other costs such as pre-operative and post-operative care and other facility expenses. Also, nose jobs would cost more in certain parts of the country. If it is in a place where plastic surgeons are highly-demanded, such as in Beverly Hills and New York City, they would cost more. The length of the surgery will also determine the cost. Finding cheap rhinoplasty will take some work.

Don’t choose a plastic surgeon just because he costs less than the others. You need to consider other factors such as trust and how qualified and experienced the doctor is. It is best to go with a board-certified cosmetic surgeon that has considerable experience in performing nose jobs. Look at the clients that he has previously dealt with and see if the results were of good quality.
