Old and New Nonsurgical Liposuction Techniques

There are treatments available in the realm of plastic surgery or cosmetic enhancement that produce very similar results but are nonsurgical. Liposuction itself is a surgical procedure that is meant for patients who want instant removal of unwanted body fat. But new developments are being made to some older techniques which allow the results without surgery. At the moment these liposuction alternatives are only applicable for the treatment of very tiny areas and small pockets of fat. For many people this is, as they say, just what the doctor ordered, but in this case, what the patient ordered.

An older method for quick fat reduction without liposuction surgery is with a chemical injection. The technique of injection itself is a classic but the solutions have been redefined over the years to produce more effective and accurate results. Mesotherapy is a popular version of this nonsurgical liposuction method in Europe and Southern America where the treatment is actually used for many other medical purposes. In North America the popular trade name is Lipodissolve which offers a faster recovery time. Both are also used in other ways such as for cellulite reduction and skin rejuvenation.

There are newer techniques that have been made possible by the advancement in technology and medical science. Thermage is the trade name of a procedure that uses heat generated by a laser to penetrate the skin and melt the fat while leaving the rest of the surrounding tissue virtually untouched. There is also the ultrasonic technique in which a very specific frequency of sound waves is used to cause the fat cells to burst and release the stored fat. Both of these strategies are extremely noninvasive as they are not only nonsurgical but do not require needles either. The released fat from the burst fat cells, or the melted fat or dissolved fat from the chemical injections are all picked up by the natural cleansing system and removed from the body with the other waste.
